Welcome to Charlie’s Challenges

Following on from completing the Marathon des Sables in 2023, my next challenge is the Cape Wrath Ultra in May 2024

The Cape Wrath Ultra - 19th to 26th May 2024

Hello and welcome to Charlie’s Challenges!

My name is Charlotte Hurst, I’m a type 1 diabetic, a private health care specialist at Hurst Health, a Mum to 2 doggies and I have decided to enter the Cape Wrath Ultra 2024!

Follow the highs and lows of my journey as I train to complete this event

Conquering the Cape Wrath Ultra: A Diabetic Runner's Journey

As the dawn of 2024 unfolds, I find myself standing at the threshold of another extraordinary challenge – the Cape Wrath Ultra race which will take place from the 19th to the 26th May, 2024.

This gruelling multi-stage race, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Scottish Highlands, beckons adventurers and athletes from around the world. However, my journey carries an additional layer of complexity, one that I’ve embraced wholeheartedly: the mission to raise awareness about living and running with type 1 diabetes.

How to follow my Cape Wrath Adventure

It will be possible to track runners through the GPS beacon 🚨 that we all have to wear. All details on how to follow the race will be on the Cape Wrath Ultra Website but CLICK HERE to open link to the live event tracking (or copy and paste the following address into your browser if the link isn’t working: https://live.opentracking.co.uk/capewrathultra24/ ) The signal will drop in and out a lot due to the remoteness of the route so don’t be alarmed if things look like they’re not moving for short periods of time once the race is underway.

I am bib number 80 🎽for all dot watching/tracking and communication.

There will also be opportunities to send me messages of support. These short messages have a real positive impact on my journey and they mean an awful lot. So if you could spare a couple of minutes to drop me a line throughout the race then I’d be very grateful. If you click on my number and follow me using the live event tracking link then you’ll see an option to send a message to me. Please note, do not use any emojis in your messages as they will block them from coming through.

However, as I said above, if you go to the Cape Wrath Ultra website and click on the “Follow the 2024 Event” button at the top it will tell you everything you need to know about how to follow.

Many thanks for your continued support. Having you behind me will make this adventure that little bit easier.
